Lightweight Polyester canvas: Masterart LW Exhibition polyester canvases are made with our 19 mm deep by 40 mm Masterart lightweight stretcher and hand stretched 350 gsm 100% polyester canvas. Polyester has some unique characteristics that suit some styles more than others. Polyester has no moisture takeup and is less likely to expand and contract due to changes in humidity makeing it more durable than either cotton or linen.
Polyester has a consistent fine, even weave that is suited to applications where the artists wants a smooth finish without having to apply multiple coats of gesso.
