Heavy Duty Stretcher Bars (HD) Featured on our Professional Heavy Duty Stretched Canvas products, Masterart HD bars offer the best value for Stretcher Bars on the market today. Made from solid kiln dried Radiata Pine sourced from renewable plantations in New Zealand. We do not use finger-jointed wood which can bend or break under pressure. Each Stretcher Bar is machined under close tolerances to ensure a perfect fit. HD bars are straight, strong, and fit nicely together. HD stretcher bar dimension is 32 m deep by 40 mm wide and is ideal for canvases up to 72"x72". Where larger format frames are required, our laminated SE45 bars are more suited.

Bracing Masterart braces form an intergal part of the Masterart HD stretcher bar assembly. Braces strengthen the frame assembly and perform the omportant function of eliminating the scolloping effect of canvas tension on the stretcher bars. Ideally, braces should be used on all canvases 30" and above. Masterart prived a standard range of sizes in single braces or cross braces.
Because the Masterart HD stretcher bar system has a locating groove running the entire length of the stretcher bar, braces can be placed whereever desired. However, where multiple cross braces are required you will need to notify us of how many cross braces per assembly you require so we can mill the appropriate cross pieces.
